The ballyhoe lakes are still the place for specimen tench this week with tench to nearly 7 lb reported again ... Steven from Lurgan managed to break the 6 lb barrier with his haul of tench from Ballyhoe 1 when he visted during the week


And later on that day after the heavy rain had helped to empty the banks of anglers local man James showed up between the showers for a spot of mepp fishing hoping to entice a big stripy or two

By the time i had left he was just getting into his stride realizing  quickly the mepp had to be retrieved as slow as possible for a take and then the fish responded with a few going over the 1lb mark , no sign of the real biggies there for him but the sport was good fun all the same


and Derry lough was throwing up some nice fish including this 6lb bream for wee Cameron who was accompanied as ever by his dad Jock and father in law Frank who took several pike from his kayak some close to double figures
